PyraMax Stories & Articles

When it comes to managing your finances, there's a lot to know, and it seems as if things are changing every day! We love educating our customers, and that's why we maintain a thorough selection of stories and articles.

Stay Safe with Mobile Banking

At PyraMax Bank we pride ourselves on protecting our customer’s accounts and account information. However, when customers are banking-on-the-go, there could always be some security risks. We wrote this blog in hopes that you will follow it and use the different tips on how to have added security while banking from your mobile device.

Protect Your Smartphone

A smartphone should be treated the same way that you would a computer or anything storing valuable information. Many people do nothing to protect their smartphone at all. While there are anti-virus apps that you can download, locking your phone after using it and logging out of your mobile banking app after a transaction can prevent unwanted use of your accounts and information. Our PyraMax Bank Moblie Money app is also set to automatically log you out of your account after it is closed or has been inactive.

Educate Yourself! Make sure you secure your phone! The following tips can be used to help protect your smartphone:

  • Use a 4-digit PIN to lock your screen
  • Do not use your debit card PIN as your phone PIN
  • Back up your data
  • Using location-based software to track your lost phone
  • Install an antivirus app
  • Update your apps to the latest version. This prevents viruses.

Protect Your Information

  • Create a strong password! This includes: numbers, letters and special characters. A combination of all three will help keep your account secure.
  • We love Wi-Fi, but not for mobile banking! Never use a business’s public Wi-Fi when accessing sensitive information. Because it is public, it is not secure; it is much safer to use your phone’s data network when accessing your account.
  • Don’t save your usernames and passwords in your browser: this makes it easy for people to access your accounts of your phone is stolen. Always Log Out!

If you follow these simple tips, you can ensure your bank accounts are safe. Good passwords, a 4-digit lock code and logging out of your accounts are all ways to keep yourself safe.  These tips will ensure that your phone is protected so that you can enjoy the convenience that comes with mobile banking
